Express Entry is Canada’s federal and world’s most popular immigration system. It is the fastest pathway to move to Canada on permanent residence visa. Hence, the discussions, speculations and buzz prior to every express entry draw is obvious thing to happen. This year, it is more so because IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada), has kept the applicants with low CRS score waiting since long.
Let’s find out more about the current trend of express entry draws and possibilities with regards to the upcoming draw of federal express entry system.
Express Entry Draw trends in 2018
This year, express entry draws followed some key trends whether it is about qualifying marks, number of invitations in a draw, or frequency of the draws.
Qualifying marks remained 440 or above throughout the year
This year, the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) requirement or qualifying marks remained 440 or above all through the year. It never came down below 440 mark in any of the Express Entry draws opened so far in the year 2018. It has been consistently hovering around this mark in last five draws, as you can see in the graph above, i.e. 441, 440, 440, 440, 441. It was 441 in the latest draw launched on September 19, 2018. This is definitely some sort of arrangement done by IRCC to keep the qualifying marks around this mark.
Stable number of Invitations
The number of Invitations issued by IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) in every draw of federal express entry system, have also remained quite stable so far in the year.
In fact, from June 13th to August 22, 2018 it remained the same, i.e. 3750 invites in all six draws launched between these days. This trend was observed in 1st and 2nd quarter as well, when same number of invites were issued for four consistent draws, in each quarter. This again a trend which seemed to have some thinking or plan behind it, as same number of invitations issued continuously for a long time.
What are the expectation from upcoming EE draws?
All the candidates registered in the express entry with relatively low CRS Score, are eager to know as to what decision IRCC will make with regards to upcoming Express Entry draw results. Whether it will continue the ongoing trend or give some respite to the applicants in the final quarter of the year.
The speculations or predictions are hard to make considering the unexpected draw results this year and last year as well, however, experts believe that the IRCC can reduce the CRS score requirement marginally in the last quarter of the year. Although this reduction will not be huge. However, one thing is sure that even the small reduction is likely to invite huge number of candidates.
