As per the latest reports, Ontario may revise minimum CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score requirement rule applicable to Express Entry aligned Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream of its Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). As per the existing minimum CRS rule, applicants require minimum CRS score of 400 or above to apply in Express entry- HCP stream of OINP.
CRS Rule Requirement Revised by OINP
As per the latest news reports, the minimum CRS score requirement will now be determined by the Director.
Moreover, candidates have been suggested to show interest in ‘immigrating to Ontario’ or select the option of “all provinces and territories” when registering their profile in federal express entry system. It is important to know that individuals willing to apply in OINP- Express Entry- HCP stream, first need to have their profile registered in Express Entry System.
Reduced Significance of CRS Score Rule in OINP Draws this year
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) didn’t really follow the minimum CRS score rule in the OINP draws launched this year. The important thing to note here is that among all three OINP draws this year, two of them were targeting the Express Entry candidates with job offer in the province of Ontario, while one was targeting the candidates with francophone skills, i.e. having the CLB 7 or higher level of proficiency in French language.
OINP dropped the CRS score requirement for these draws below 400 CRS points. In fact, in the August 9, 2018 draw (targeting express entry applicants with job offer in Ontario) required CRS score as low as 350 CRS points.
